"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" is a Haunted Turd
SPOILERS!! Ghostbusters Afterlife is clearly a love letter to Harold Ramis, but, in my opinion, that letter reads "THPPTPHTPHPHHPH." Ok, so picture it: I'm a rabid fan of the first three GB movies (1984, 1989, 2016) and I've gotten my ten year-old hooked on them, as well. We pick up pizzas, fries, and ice cream, and we're going to have THE MOST decadent viewing party at the drive- in movies watching the 2021 Ghostbusters addition to the franchise. It stars Paul Rudd! I'm exc

“Thriller” is Wrecking My Life
Yes, I am referring to “Thriller,” the 1983 Michael Jackson thirteen-minute music video where zombies and werewolves stalk a young woman in heels. (I’m using a cartoon instead of a real pic from the video in case she comes across the article when she’s older and has realized her mom talks about her on the internet. I don’t want her to relapse and come home from college to get in my bed) It’s close to midnight and something small and terrified is lurking by my bed. It’s my sev

Nightbitch, by Rachel Yoder
Nightbitch has also been optioned for a film, set to star THE Amy Adams! Boom! I'm going to try to write this review of Nightbitch, by Rachel Yoder, in a way that doesn't spoil too much for everyone, but this book taught me that I can do whatever the fuck I want because I am a powerful she-beast, so if I ruin it for you, too bad and you're welcome.
When I started Nightbitch, I had to take a lot of breaks. The dangerous meat of it doesn't come until much later, but the early

So, Sarah Z, When Can I Read Your Book???
I sent an email out to the 30 (THIRTY!!!!) friends and family members who read some or all of my book and helped me rework it and encouraged me to finish the bastard. I'm so overwhelmed with gratitude. I had NO idea what I was getting into years ago when I was like, "Maybe it would be cool to write a book." Idiot child. Thirty-five year-old idiot child.
Anyway, it's certainly taken a village to get the manuscript and me to this point. So...what point are we at? In the past

Hawaii is Really Pretty- Why Does No One Talk About That? ;)
So, last week, my Robb and I went to the big island of Hawai'i. We saw an active volcano, lush rainforests, deserts, waterfalls, ALL the fruits, dolphins, sea turtles, green and black sand, friends, and the new Bond movie, because sometimes you just need to take advantage of a babysitter and go to a movie, even when you're in a tropical paradise. It feels like there's nothing new I can say that hasn't been said about the gorgeousness of the place, but I'll try. Plants are jur
